Time for Destime

Perfection! I loooove  the color, the toe, the stiletto, the platform, the finish!

Presenting Aldo's "Destime" in bone -- So cute!
Walking on the ceiling...
Heel height: 5.5"
Platform height: 1.25"

I hate how Aldo doesn't carry half sizes though. I'm traditionally a 5.5, but to get pumps to fit me at Aldo, I wear a 5. My left foot is a tiiiny bit bigger than a 5/5.5 (width-wise), so I had to use my high heel stretcher to make it comfortable. Thank goodness for that! Love them!!

P.S. The Aldo website has sold out of size 5 in bone! That was quick!! I'm glad I grabbed mine up when I did!

Plus... doesn't its shape look very similar to Christian Louboutin's Bianca platform pumps?  Buy the real deal at Barneys.com for $735.00
Or buy the steal, Aldo's Destime, from Aldoshoes.com for $90.00

Happy thoughts, happy colors

Swatch of the week: Red 1 nail polish from Urban Outfitters
with flash:
without flash:

I like this red...it almost has a pinkish hue/base to it.  Like the other UO nail polishes, it has the same kind of consistency.  First coat will be light and streaky, but 2nd coat will complete the look.  It kind of looks like a marble-y cherry pearl-thing. lol.  The photos above were accomplished with 2 coats...a little sloppy, sorry.

Camera

Hooray! I received my IRS tax refund via direct deposit!

I think I might go for the Canon XSi now instead of the T1i. I don't think I need THAT much of a crazy DSLR camera.

hmm... I need to do some more research

Old Photography

I took this photo at around 8 a.m. from our campsite back in April 2008 at Casitas Lake.
Zen.

Nature is a no-brainer for beautiful shots.

Sephora & Tokidoki

I just wanted to share a catalog I received in the mail from being a Beauty Insider:
Those lip stains (look like markers) look miiiighty interesting!

YSL - Bakers steal deal

While I was at the mall I spotted some shoes at Bakers that reminded me a LOT of the YSL "Iconic High Heel Leather Sandal."  It's called the "Kateri" and I think it's a reissue of their knockoffs from 2 years ago (now in red and black) for Spring.

Cute and trendy for spring!

Get the real deal at YSL.com for $760.00
or get the steal at BakersShoes.com for $49.99

Nude heaven

I found them, I finally found them! THE perfect nude (aka MY flesh tone) pumps!  I've been waiting, and waiting, and searching, and waiting (literally for 2 years) for the perfect nude pair of classic pumps.  Pumps for "any occasion" that create the illusion of elongating your legs. Perfect stick stiletto, perfect platform, perfect roundish almond toe.

New from Aldo is the "Destime" in Bone ($90.00 dropped from $100.00 when I first saw them)
Ahhhh! I went to the store today to go try them in my size (EU 35 - US 5), but to my dismay that size is only for special order in that style!  So I had the salesperson get me the 6 so I could try them on just to see how it'd look on my feet, the height, and the color...it was LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.  It's not suede, it's not patent, but a soft buffed leather. I didn't want suede because I don't really feel like it's a spring/summer fabric (PERSONALLY--although I'm sure there are others who would disagree wholeheartedly, but this is my opinion) and I don't like the durability of suede.  I thought I wanted patent leather, but then I saw some other styles in real life with patent "nudes" and noticed streaking from when you accidentally slide your shoes together and scratches showing up more on the display.

Anyhow, I bought them (in store, free shipping!) with a 10% VIP e-mail sign up coupon from their website and they are on their way home to my feet... excitement!

L.A.M.B. / Michael Antonio gladiator sandal stiletto bootie

I LOVE Gwen Stefani's fashion lines. I LOVE her shoe lines: Harajuku Lovers and L.A.M.B.

Her design team has come up with one sickkkk (like HOT) pair of sandal/gladiator/stiletto/bootie... and I have a "steal" to accompany it.

I still love Gwen's waaaay more, but for a cut in price I suppose fashionistas can go for the steal.

Get the real deal (only brown left in stock) at Endless.com for $379.99 (sizes selling out fast!)
or Get the steal at Endless.com for $68.00

Obsession

Current obsession: lomography

This is some DIGITAL manipulation to produce lomographic effects I did with Photoshop CS3 on photos I took of some of my mom's orchids at my parent's house.

I, however, would like to get an actual analogue lomography camera eventually. I am eyeing the Holga or Diana sold at places like UO. I WANT!

Ok, time for bed! Good night!

Paint points

I went to Urban Outfitters to scavenge their clearance/sale section.  I hardly ever buy anything at full price there. Interestingly enough, whenever I get compliments on certain pieces, they are on pieces I pick up from the clearance section at UO.

Get ready for this steal...*drumroll* Nailpolish for... wait for it... wait... for... it...
$0.99 EACH! Woowww! And they are the colors they have out for regular price currently.  The only thing I saw wrong with ONE bottle was that there was a drip of paint outside of the bottle.  I nabbed up 8 of the colors below:
Chrome Pewter 1, Matte Grey 4, Grey 2, Blue 2, Blue 3, Blue 4, Green 2, Green 4, Orange 2, Orange 3, Red 1
(no flash)

I love these bottles! Square, rubberized black caps, and one side with some sort of cool black/clear design by grayhood.  The colors are light on the 1st coat, and then opaque by the 2nd coat.  Although I haven't tried them all yet, I think I needed 3 coats for the orange (on my toes right now). They dry pretty quick and I think are pretty good with the premature chipping issue.  I get a solid week out of them.

No shimmer or sparkle, just flat opaque-ish colors.  Although, if you like glitter, they sell nail polish with glitter too.  Find them near the cash register, or check the clearance section to see if any got thrown back there.  Currently, only the chrome set is available online.

Stay tuned for weekly photo updates of nail polish as I redo my manicures.

Grey all the way!

I loooove grey! It's my favorite "color."  I'm a monochromatic girl at heart, so when I saw this nail polish at Urban Outfitters (2 for $8) I had to get it. It's called Matte Grey 4:

Without flash

With flash
Yay! Matte + grey =

The matte isn't super matte like the greenish color I got from Forever 21, but it is still a nice flat color.  It's kind of a steel blue color.  The pictured polish above was accomplished with 2 coats.

Bang! bang!

Here I am! This was my first time handling the Beretta PX4 Storm, so I look kind of awkward pushing in the clip and cocking the gun the 1st time around. I get more comfortable though. :)

Goals: SHOOT!

Good morning!

With all the web browsing I've been doing, it's really re-sparked my interest in photography and art.  I think when I get my tax refund or car accident settlement check, I might buy a new camera... Canon T1i or T2i... not sure yet...

or... a new gun... Beretta 84FS Cheetah in Nickel. Gorgeous.

I think I get my good aim from my dad...he's an incredibly accurate shooter! I don't really like guns (yes, I know--then why by one?), but I seem to have a talent for it... and I like to collect tools and gadgets that I have a talent for. Yes, weird.

My target after my 1st time shooting a .40, my 2nd time at the gun range:
Will post video in another post.

What was awesome was that the Range Master came by to give me some (free!) tips to help me improve my shooting, complimented my shooting, and told my boyfriend to be careful. hahaha

Tokidoki makeup

Updated! Scroll down...

(4.30.10)
I am a big fan of Tokidoki.  I've been following their releases and joint ventures and see that they've created a new line of makeup sold at Sephora. I'm curious to try their lip glosses.

Before they went to Sephora, though, they teamed up with Smashbox for a special limited edition collaboration in spring 2007.
As a big fan, I nabbed up the eye shadow quads "Modella" (model) and "Celebrita" (celebrity) back then. For reasons:  1) I love eye shadow, and 2) I wanted to collect the artwork, I went hunting for a great deal.  They retail for $30 each quad and can still be found on Amazon. Being the frugal bargain hunter I am, I got BOTH (completely new and sealed) for $18 - no tax & no shipping - from eBay in June 2008!

The colors are kind of strange. They don't come on the way they look in the palette, especially true for the "Modella" palette's lighter colors (palette with the brown).  They are shimmery and kind of light (not really pigmented?), but that may be that at the time I purchased these I didn't know about primer.  I may have to retry it.  I'll update this post with photos of how these colors show up on my skin.  I like it, but I don't love love it. The images are def. cute though.

Update (5.4.10):
Here are the Modella colors on my skin, primed, starting with the upper left corner white, blue, orange, brown:
The first 3 colors have a very iridescent quality to them. The white shimmers greenish-yellow.

Coastal Colors

Say hello to my newest makeup addition, Coastal Scents 88 Palette:

After watching a great many makeup tutorial videos on YouTube with people using this one, I finally settled on Coastal Scents 88 Palette to order and try out.  I don't normally do a lot of funky, crazy colors, but I thought that every girl should have a palette with color in case if she ever wanted to try it out for fun ^_^

I bought mine from Amazon instead of the official website (www.coastalscents.com) because I was buying a study guide for school anyway and decided I should take advantage of the free shipping & no tax ($18.95).  The package was nicely wrapped tight with bubble wrap and an Airpac.  No chipped or broken pots! Plus+

The pots are small though, as demonstrated by the dime I placed on the clear plastic sheet it came with to protect the pots from debris.  BUT, the oh BUT, the color payoff is Great (make sure you prime before applying)! Great pigment with just a little bit dabbed on my brushes.

I did a quick stupid eye makeup session and did one eye "ocean" colors and the other "sunset" colors--although I should've added more orange. Here are my webcam pictures:
...and my fobby punch-in-the-face+puffy face pose. LOL
I am using my Smashbox black gel? pot eyeliner and some great Japanese mascara. Lip gloss is by Goldie (bought from Bath & Body Works, but no longer carried by them) in some hot pinkish color.
