Looks like some designers have been getting lazy, or hoping to get away with copying a design, or both!  I would've thought better H for Halston for Bakers, but as I was browsing the heels, a pair caught my eye. I thought, cute color! (the coral and the turquoise/blue) And then, cute style! And then... I frowned. It looked cute because it looked familiar.

Yes, different colors, materials, mine have perforations and not as highly stacked platform (layered in H's), but it has the same cutouts and criss-crossing style!

Shame for a brand that prices its shoes a little above Bakers normal prices would use the same Bakers design.

Classic wedge

I saw Jennifer Aniston wearing these last year.  These wedges will be a classic look for spring/summer, but they come at a hefty price--as celebrities are used to and where prices really mean nothing for them.

These are a natural espadrille wedge sandal in the color "swamp" crochet.   I really like this taupey-nude color because it can go with pretty much any outfit for spring/summer--dressed up or down.  The ivory color is nice too.  Dresses, shorts, cropped pants, bikinis (for you whose bodies are poolside/beach ready! mine is not right now)... you name it! You won't expect these to go out of fashion season-to-season.  It's not too much on a "trendy train" with bright, fluorescent colors, or floral prints, or strange shapes.

Lace me up!

My current obsession... I am dreaming about these shoes! I love the lace up & cut-outs and a tiny bit of raffia--perfect for spring!

BUT, I have nowhere to wear them for the next 2 years! Between being cooped up in my office and the classroom, there is not really any time to doll up... but I can dream, can't I?

Sneak By

Hi Ladies! I've gotten a few positive comments about my shoes pictured in the photo with my girlfriends in Vegas, and they are by Bakers called "Sneak By".  I purchased them last year full price, but they are on sale now for $30 off the original price (now $49.99).  The only catch? They only have a size 6 left in stock in black.  So if this is your size, you're in luck!

They are light and comfy!  But getting used to walking in them (balancing because of the slight dip at the front of the platform) takes a few times, but after that it's a breeze! The under sole of the shoe is made of a rubbery material, so no need to add non-skid pads!  Awesome! They should make all heels with built-in traction (didn't they use to in the good ol' days? money mongers trying to make money off shoe enthusiasts now...).  The ankle cuffs are really cool and emphasize your legs--tightened up by the 5" heel--and ankle.  Don't worry that it's 5" because the  1 3/4" platform makes it easier to walk in.  I really do love these and think they are one of my most favorite shoes, so I'd highly recommend!

3/27/2010 - Legs galore!

Saturday, March 27 at XS Las Vegas @ Encore with my girls! What an amazing time! We had our own table right at the door from the inside of the club to the pool area to drink Red Bull & dance the night away (well, I did most of that)!  This is us poolside before finding our "spot" on the black couches under the heat lamps.

I have a tendency to like "country"/vintage patterns for a softer, more feminine look, so I prefer these bracelets from H&M that I picked up recently over the one pictured with the outfit. For a more casual look, go with some cute gladiator-ish sandals.  Cute, no?
