Daffodile Dupe?

Original Post 9/12/12:
I just saw the new arrivals from Bakers online and it looks like we have a dupe of the infamous Christian Louboutin Daffodile pump!  Bakers/Wild Pair has created the Issa WP.  The Loubs are still way hotter with the sexy curves... but if you like the general shape of the shoe, this might be a more wallet-friendly alternative for you!
Christian Louboutin Daffodile - $1075 (6.3" heel, platform 2.5")

Wild Pair Isa WP - Bakers $120 - available in black or taupe leather, or blue suede (6.4" heel, platform 2.5")

& thanks to stilettolover91 for the find, there's also the Steve Madden Dejavu version ($129.95) - available in black, blush, and gold (6" heel, 2" platform)

Edited Post: 9/14/12
I was at Forever21 and spotted these lookalikes as well
Black Faux Suede & Leopard - both $29.80
Heel heights are 6.25" with a 2.75" hidden platform
...
And patent colors with a shorter heel (5.75") with a hidden platform of 2.75"; available in: black, pink, blush, red, and nude for $27.80:
...
And metallic mesh colors (black or gunmetal) with a 5.75" heel and 2.75" hidden platform for $24.80:

Inspired by... Bridal party shoes

"Inspired" Look

I was pretty excited when I ran across these Jimmy Choo's (Darling sandal in gold) on the left online because they reminded me a lot of my Aldo Gagliardi purchase (now sold out) for my wedding party shoes later this December. True, they're not a dead-on replica, but the toe box has an 'inspired by' look in the caged weaving. Love!  I wore these to break them in during the bride-to-be's bachelorette party in Las Vegas and they were comfy and sturdy!

Hyper Natural Gray Circle Lens Review

I know it's been awhile since I did my first review of circle lens...
So without further ado...

Before: Natural colored eyes below (top)
After: Hyper Natural Gray lens (bottom)
14.5 mm

This obviously enlarges my irises and gives me a doll-eyed look. I like this gray too since it doesn't have a lot the 'bluish' tinge that other gray lenses have (click image to enlarge). Comfort-wise it isn't too bad since it has 45% water content.

*Please do not remove any of my watermarks. I'm providing these photos as reference for those who are interested in the lenses.

Dany in action

Since I'm in school pretty much every day, wearing heels isn't the most practical thing since I'm climbing stairs and rushing to get from one destination to the next. My good friend's bridal shower gave me a chance to break in these bad boys (Jessica Simpson Dany in Coffee Summer):

Comfort verdict? Super! Except, I have an issue with the back of my right heel that a lot of heels cause irritation and rub and give me blisters. This was one of them. I'll be putting a heel grip to the back of this one.

EOS Limited Edition - Snow White

I saw this limited edition Disney "Snow White" EOS set earlier this week at Target for $7.99 and had to pick it up! Scents: Sweet Vanilla Nonsense, Watermelon Wonderland, and Blueberry Potion

 Packaging
 Back of packaging
The limited edition has an extra "groove" on the side to make the Mickey Mouse silhouette! Cute!
When I opened the balms I noticed they were more "yellow" than my other EOS balms (example above next to strawberry sorbet). I'm not sure if it's a change in formula or what, but the texture is still about the same.  I have to say that the scents were really "sweet" smelling. Almost on the verge of too sweet.

Two-toned cut-outs

I had a little free time this week from just starting a new session in school so I've got some posts loaded up for the week!

I wanted to share this find for those who like the colorblock trend.  I do like the detail of the 'weaving' action.
Left: Giuseppe Zanotti Coloblock Wave Sandal (MSRP $1,150; sold out)
Right: GoJane Two-tone cut-out heels (in several other colors as well; 6" heel, 2" platform) ($34.70)

Jessica Simpson - Carlina

Oh Hey! I stumbled across these at Ross today for $19.99 (MSRP $98.00)! Steal!! Jessica Simpson "Carlina" - Cognac brown straps with wrap-around knit grey texture on the platform and heel? Yay! Kind of reminds me of the color scheme from the House of Harlow Fionna wedges.  And, as always, comfy heels. Love the built in padded insoles!

Bridesmaid dress design

I've been MIA for quite awhile now... Been busy with school. Just finished rotations in OB and pediatrics and now I just started critical care/ICU.  I had a busy last clinical last week in the ER, meeting the helicopter at the hospital's helipad to bring down a septic patient to the ICU, and then this week with multiple patients in and out for heart stents, catheterizations, and pacemakers.  Take care of your heart! Exercise, DON'T smoke, and eat well!

Anyhow... I managed to get some of my bridesmaid duties down planning the bachelorette party next month and assisting in wedding logistics for later this year.

I sketched this a concept of the custom bridesmaid dresses that my mom helped to sew for the bridesmaid... sneak peak at the back (we chose the diamond back).

Aldo Gagliardi heels

I grabbed these on sale for one of my close friend's weddings later this year.  I am a bridesmaid once again! This time the request was for gold shoes, bridesmaid's choice!  So my search began and I found these!

Presenting Aldo's Gagliardi.  They are quite nice.  And only $30 right now! I love the detail in the interwoven straps.  Not bad comfort-wise for 5.5" heels either!

Heel Height: 5.5 inches
Platform Height: 1.25 inches

Work It!

My lazy self hasn't "found time" (what an excuse... just nursing school, NBD) to work out, but with events looming ahead (e.g. bachelorette party), I need to get fit.  I'm kind of a plain Jane and normally don't do loud colors, so I played it safe and got a pair of Nike Air Max+ 2011 in Platinum/Stealth grey (under $98, including tax+shipping! - MSRP $160). Woop!  A little change from the heels...

And these shoes are as amazing as the reviews say! Cushiony, great arch support, great breathability!

Restocked JC Lita Dupes (Glaze Victoria-1)

For those who have been looking, GoJane.com has just restocked a bunch of their Glaze Victoria-1 styles -- including the woven leatherette and taupe 'suede'. I got mine for a killer deal 2 months ago, but this price is still definitely way more affordable than the original Jeffrey Campbell Lita.  Grab 'em while they're hot!

And for those of you looking for additional colors & styles, MakeMeChic.com has some floral and other bright colors for a slightly better price point than GoJane.

House of Harlow - wedge revisited

So, I was at my local Marshall's yesterday and saw several shoes I wanted last year (but they were all out of my size! T.T) and then...
I spotted the House of Harlow Fionna wedges I was obsessing about last year...
from MSRP of $240, they were selling for $100

What a great price from the original! I hemmed and hawed for a good 10-15 minutes, but I passed on them to save $. Aw... sad. But at least I got to try them on in person (comfy and cute!).

Urban Outfitters - Nail Polish

Urban Outfitters Nail Polish
Left: Smush
Right: Dust

I had a 5 day break at the end of my finals before starting my new semester, so I was able to do my nails! Yippee! I really like how this turned out.  The glittery top color (Dust) is suspended in a transparent blue color so it added more dimension to the light seafoam green of Smush.  This glitter STICKS. I hate having to take off glitter polish when I'm done, but at least I know that it stays on pretty well.  I got an opaque base color in 2 coats and just put on 1-2 coats of the glitter polish so I could distribute it well.  I can't really say how long this np would last because I had to take it off after 4 days, but I will say that it held up those 4 days really well without chipping!

Lita Dupes - with DIY Eyelets applied

One with, one without (I've since completed them to have both with)
Black woven leatherette

Taupe 'suede' (without flash)
(with flash)

I finished these awhile back, but haven't had the time to post.  I put in the eyelets and the laces definitely glide better when loosening and tightening and I think it gives it a nice little "oomph."  I roughly followed the DIY guide from xokatattack.tumblr.com and used nail polish to paint the eyelets to match the studs before applying them.

It seems that these particular finish/color combos of the JC Lita dupes are sold out now.  I can't find them anywhere at the moment.  Good luck to the gals searching!
