Iced Tea Love

My favorite iced tea!

Republic of Tea - Passion Fruit Green Tea
Unsweetened, fruity, yummy, refreshing! I like to add a packet of Stevia or Splenda and shake it up when it's ice cold to cool down.  These babies aren't for everyday though.  They're a splurge at about $4/bottle with my meals at Nordstrom Cafe (California grill is delicious!).

Drink tea, be happy.

Tea for all

I love green tea, but I love toasted brown rice green tea more!

Yamamotoyama Genmai Cha (Brown Rice Tea) is my favorite right now... Delicious popped rice, nutty, slightly sweet. YUM!  If you like cold, barley tea or like the grain-y, malt-y taste: you should try this!

Great for relaxing, great for antioxidants, and great for boosting your metabolism. Amazon sells these in bulk. I buy mine at my favorite local Japanese market, Nijiya. 16 packets for about $1.50--less than $0.10 a cup ^_^

Sweet Japanese Snacks

Yummy goodness! I love love love Glica Pocky Almond Crush snacks! Light and crispy sticks dipped in chocolate and then covered in crushed almonds... *drool  One of my favorite sweet snacks to pick up when I'm at the Japanese Market

My favorite candy (chocolates) to pick up are Meiji Meltyblend chocolates. I usually get the milk chocolate, but I know there are strawberry and green tea varieties as well.  I want to try the green tea some time.  These are little chocolate cubes dusted with cocoa powder and have a rich, buttery semi-sweet dark chocolate flavor.  When you pop it into your mouth, it's smooth and almost icy tasting, with a texture that melts in into softness--kind of like a chocolate truffle. Mmmmmm...

Perfectly Poached

used my new egg poachers, and they work brilliantly! Yum!

For these, spray the inside with a non-stick oil like Pam and then crack in the egg.  I like to sprinkle some garlic powder on top because I like garlic.  I put these egg poachers in about 2-3 inches of boiling water in a pot and then cover it with its lid for about 5 minutes to steam/poach.  I remove the poachers with a slotted spoon (the steam in the pot is too hot for me to grab these with my hand), tilt them by holding 2 edges and these bad boys slide right out! Easy clean and perfectly poached eggs!  Top with a sprinkle of salt & pepper to taste.

I LOVE these things! HotSpot EggShell Silicone Egg Poacher - A+!

Food Spreads

I am intrigued.  With a new "healthy" outlook on food, I found these:

Lemonaise & Baconnaise -- alternatives to MAYO for your sandwiches & spreads!

Lemonaise - light, zesty, and yummy! I've had this one before.  They sell it at Bristol Farms and would totally recommend this. AND Zero grams of carbs! Not too shabby!

Baconnaise - this intrigued me because I love bacon! BUT this contains NO PORK and is vegetarian! Wow. I haven't tried it yet.  I don't know where to buy it, but when I do I will be sure to review it.  There are a few reviews on Amazon for it though and they range from good to bad. Hm.

Yummy [Smelling] AND Cute!

These are WAAAYYY too cute!!

Food inspired jewelry! AND you can get them scented!  They're made with polymer clay. I totally love the detail! hmmm... another thing to add to my "to do" aka "to try" list.

Go see them all at tinyhands

Resolutions

Valentine's Day is coming up and my b.f. and I have pledged to healthy eating & regular exercising... after February 14th.

In preparation for this, I went on Amazon and purchased a digital scale (I've never owned a scale), a set of silicone egg poachers, and a digital thermometer for roasting meats in the oven instead of frying them on the stove top.  I can never get enough of kitchen gadgets and doo-dads!

I want to buy some silicon egg rings from Ebay, $8 shipped! But I think I'll give myself something to buy tomorrow instead. hahaha...

Yum 'N Fun!

Tokidoki x Yogurtland = Yum 'N Fun!

Ahhh, what a perfect pairing! I got these at the Alhambra location after stuffing my face with shrimp & crawfish with my college roomies! I NEED to find the blue and white spoons somewhere! Only 2 days left of the collaboration! Must...hunt...down. Sawtelle, I'll be scoping you out tomorrow or the next day!
