Work It!

My lazy self hasn't "found time" (what an excuse... just nursing school, NBD) to work out, but with events looming ahead (e.g. bachelorette party), I need to get fit.  I'm kind of a plain Jane and normally don't do loud colors, so I played it safe and got a pair of Nike Air Max+ 2011 in Platinum/Stealth grey (under $98, including tax+shipping! - MSRP $160). Woop!  A little change from the heels...

And these shoes are as amazing as the reviews say! Cushiony, great arch support, great breathability!

Restocked JC Lita Dupes (Glaze Victoria-1)

For those who have been looking, has just restocked a bunch of their Glaze Victoria-1 styles -- including the woven leatherette and taupe 'suede'. I got mine for a killer deal 2 months ago, but this price is still definitely way more affordable than the original Jeffrey Campbell Lita.  Grab 'em while they're hot!

And for those of you looking for additional colors & styles, has some floral and other bright colors for a slightly better price point than GoJane.

House of Harlow - wedge revisited

So, I was at my local Marshall's yesterday and saw several shoes I wanted last year (but they were all out of my size! T.T) and then...
I spotted the House of Harlow Fionna wedges I was obsessing about last year...
from MSRP of $240, they were selling for $100

What a great price from the original! I hemmed and hawed for a good 10-15 minutes, but I passed on them to save $. Aw... sad. But at least I got to try them on in person (comfy and cute!).

Urban Outfitters - Nail Polish

Urban Outfitters Nail Polish
Left: Smush
Right: Dust

I had a 5 day break at the end of my finals before starting my new semester, so I was able to do my nails! Yippee! I really like how this turned out.  The glittery top color (Dust) is suspended in a transparent blue color so it added more dimension to the light seafoam green of Smush.  This glitter STICKS. I hate having to take off glitter polish when I'm done, but at least I know that it stays on pretty well.  I got an opaque base color in 2 coats and just put on 1-2 coats of the glitter polish so I could distribute it well.  I can't really say how long this np would last because I had to take it off after 4 days, but I will say that it held up those 4 days really well without chipping!

Lita Dupes - with DIY Eyelets applied

One with, one without (I've since completed them to have both with)
Black woven leatherette

Taupe 'suede' (without flash)
(with flash)

I finished these awhile back, but haven't had the time to post.  I put in the eyelets and the laces definitely glide better when loosening and tightening and I think it gives it a nice little "oomph."  I roughly followed the DIY guide from and used nail polish to paint the eyelets to match the studs before applying them.

It seems that these particular finish/color combos of the JC Lita dupes are sold out now.  I can't find them anywhere at the moment.  Good luck to the gals searching!

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

L to R: Tutti Fruiti, Cotton Candy, Peach Parfait, Pink Truffle, Berry Smoothie

A good friend of mine Instagram'd a photo of these Lip Butters a little while back so I waited for some sales and coupons so I could pick up some to try for myself from my local CVS.  I would describe these as a hybrid between a lipstick and a lip balm... or like a lip gloss without the stickiness.  These babies really go on smooth and make your lips feel hydrated. I always put on some lip balm (eos for me) before putting anything else on my lips just for good measure.  If your lips are cracked and dry to start with, I think the pigment will start to settle into those lines. So, my advice would be to: (1) drink lots of fluids to stay hydrated, and (2) use lip balm underneath!

A little blurb of what I'd describe the colors as (what cute names!):

Tutti Fruiti: a sheer coral-to-orange with a hint of peachy shimmer
Cotton Candy: a pale, almost creamy pink with a golden shimmer
Peach Parfait: a medium-light peachy pink with a golden shimmer (great for every day!)
Pink Truffle: this is what I would call my personal "my natural lip color, but better" shade - I really like this one ! It's a medium brown-pink with a teeny hint of pink shimmer
Berry Smoothie: a medium magenta pink with pink and gold shimmer

I had also purchased Cupcake, but didn't really like it so I returned it quickly thereafter.  Sorry, no swatch for that. It was just too pastel-creamy pink for my lip/skin tone and a little too close to Cotton Candy (which I liked way better anyway) for me.
